Technical Optimization of Solar Trackers in the Federal District (DF)
Brasília presents an extraordinary solar generation profile characterized by Global Horizontal Irradiation (GHI) figures surpassing 5.4 to 5.9 kWh/m²/day. However, EPCs and long-term asset holders face significant microclimatic hurdles: distinct biannual cycles consisting of intense wet-season convective squalls followed by prolonged dry spells characterized by fine particulate red clay deposition (latosol) and ambient relative humidity plunging below 15%.
To deliver a Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) advantage in plants around Planaltina, Ceilândia, and surrounding Goiás agricultural borders, solar tracking mechanisms must incorporate three core engineering parameters: advanced 3D terrain adaptability, smart backtracking to mitigate diffuse light losses during monsoon cloud cover, and robust mechanical drive integrity against dust intrusion.

Bifacial Optimization on High-Albedo Ground: Light clay and sparse grass common in the Cerrado yield ground albedos between 0.22 and 0.28. By elevating the torque tube clearance height to ≥1.5 meters and specifying transparent dual-glass N-Type TOPCon or PERC half-cell panels (550W–595W series), the rear-side bifacial yield reaches up to 12–15% additional energy during clear-sky months, significantly enhancing internal rate of return (IRR) for local generation consortiums.
